Happy 4th of July




Lots of photographers post pictures of flags or fireworks on this holiday on their websites. I took this yesterday during a road trip. Since we wouldn't be where we are as a country without the family farm, I thought it would make a fitting tribute on our nation's birthday.

A quick photo for the day


Had some time to go through the photos from the past few days and decided to post this one up.  No processing save for a color correction and save to Jpeg.  It's our last night on the shore, sitting here listening to Superior's waves crash on the rocks.  Soon it's back to reality, but for now, just enjoying the quiet...

 Up on the North Shore on a much needed break from the daily grind.  Walked around Grand Marais a bit today, and shot some photos this evening as well.  I'll post more when I can get to a real computer, my laptop is painfully slow to do any real editing on...

Suburban wildlife






Egret


Coming home from work tonight, I saw several egrets in a drainage pond near my house. Ran home, grabbed the camera, and headed out. Got my first decent shots of these guys ever, they are so skittish. They flew away several times, but got shots of them fishing, wading, and a nice flying shot.

Playing around a little today, took a walk in a natural area near the house looking for spring wildflowers or green tree buds for some color. I was surprised by the color of the algae growing in the creek, clinging to the grasses and seeming to flow like water...
