I’ve just returned from a 3 day trip to Bosque del Apache NWR in New Mexico. The weather didn’t cooperate for much of the trip. but I got some sunrise and setset light for the last 2 shoots. I shot one evening in a snowstorm, so that was interesting, and challenging. Here are a couple of shots from the trip. I haven’t gotten nearly done editing, so the rest will appear in time. Be sure to check out the galleries on my website. I will create a separate gallery for the trip. Meanwhile, enjoy these, and feel free to leave comments or questions.

I’ve gone too long without posting to my blog, so I suppose that one of my many resolutions for 2008 should be to blog more often. So, in that spirit, I can honestly say that I’ve blogged every day of 2008 so far. We’ll see how long that lasts. I’m predicting not long, since I know me pretty well. I decided to take my camera out to the dog park to practice my very rusty action shooting skills, as I’m heading to Bosque del Apache refuge in New Mexico at the end of the month to do some bird photography. I’m pretty happy with this shot of one of my labs, Ruby, busting through the snow after a tennis ball. Best wishes for the new year, and hopefully I’ll have more to share as the days and weeks progress!

My wife and I spent a wonderful, relaxing three days this past weekend on the North Shore of Lake Superior near Grand Marais. I just had time to get these three images edited and posted tonight, but I have many more photos from this trip to go through and finish. These are all three Superior shoreline shots. The top one was taken well after sunset with a 25 second exposure, resulting in the silky, wispy waves breaking over the rocks. The other two were taken the first morning, with nice sunrise and some wispy clouds, reflected in this little pool in the rock.

Well, it’s been a few days since my last post. My family and I went to a neat little farmstead last weekend, where I got this photo.

As you can see, the fall color around the Twin Cities is getting good! I took these images today at Carver Park Reserve. Peak color is only a day or two away, and with the dry summer, certainly won’t last long. Fall color isn’t just about the foliage. This field of pink and purple wildflowers was bursting with color as well. Get out there and shoot it now!
